The mystic saints of the Tamil tradition — masters of yoga, medicine, alchemy,
and poetry — who made the breath the doorway to liberation.
முருகன் · Murugan
Divine Leader
முருகன்Lord Murugan
Lord Murugan — the eternal youth, bearer of the vel (the spear of
wisdom) and rider of the peacock — is revered as the divine guru and leader
of the 18 Siddhars. The Siddhar path is inseparable from His grace.
The bond is a living one: Siddhar Bogar himself fashioned the famed
navapashana (nine-herb mineral) idol of Murugan at Palani, worshipped
to this day. To follow the Siddhars is to walk in Murugan's light.
